The Spectro Oil Service Station will be open and changing oil at the Smoke Out Rally 14 on  Friday and Saturday on June 21-22, 2013 in Rockingham, North Carolina.  Overseeing the service work will be Eddie Ellis, Owner of Easy Eddies.  Check the SmokeOutRally.com for updates.

The Smoke Out Rally  is a two day Chopper party that celebrates the machine and the men and women that build them. From professional builders to those backyard fabricators and their chops of American, British and Japanese decent are honored.

Easy Eddies supplies the full line of Spectro Oil products for stock bikes, cruisers, metric engines, Shovelheads, Evos, custom bikes and for all the varieties of choppers.

This garage-built film features those bloody knuckle guys like Fabricator Kevin, Roadside Marty, Bean’re, the Brew Dude and artists like Tony Squindo and Mike Lichter. The film captures the music from hard rocking Big House Pete, Rebel Son and Cutthroat Shamrock.

The ROAD 2 SMOKE OUT is a new film from Zack Coffman, Producer of Choppertown and Greg “Edge” Scheuer, the Smoke Out Rally’s Producer.

“We sought out Zack because of his success with his film Choppertown – the motorcycle documentary about the renowned hot rod and motorcycle club, the Sinners,” explained Edge. “He knows music, choppers and what it takes to live in the lifestyle.”

The Smoke Out 14 Rally team is working to raise $13,500 from the motorcycle community by May 31, 2013 and will use the money for DVD duplication, cover art and travel.

Prizes are awarded for the race winner, best costume and meanest mini bike. The crowd will choose the winners for the best costume and meanest mini bike category based on cheers.

Little Ozzy, a diminutive Ozzy Osbourne impersonator, is the nation’s only 4ft 8in OZZY OSBOURNE tribute band headliner. Little Ozzy as seen on AMERICA’s GOT TALENT, will be doing doing all your fav OZZY / SABBATH hits at SO 14!

This act actually plays their instruments and is a killer “Real” band. Other little people acts lip synch to tracks…NOT LITTLE OZZY! The band has been together only one year an are hitting big stages and Casinos all over the country and was personally invited by GWAR to headline their annual GWAR -BQ and just played to thousands on the Jagermeister stage at Bike Week in Daytona Beach Fl.

D&D Awarding Slip-on Exhaust Pipes

The D&D Slipons are slick and look a lot like drag pipes. The removable “baffle” is small on the inside, and doesn’t come close to closing any gap in the exhaust. You can look through them quite easily. The sound is deep and throaty. Bikes run much better with a free-flowing exhaust and deliver more of a “snap” to the throttle.

The D&D Story

In 1972 David Rash had a problem. He could not find the Exhaust Pipe he needed for his race bike. He knew that the proper exhaust for his engine configuration would give him an edge over his competition. However, no such pipe was available. So he did the only thing he could do.

He fabricated his own pipe.

Question 1: Can viscosity grades be mixed?

Spectro Oil Answer: Yes, you can and no harm will be done. Topping up with 10w40, if its all you have available, will not injure the 20w50 in your crankcase. It will, however, lower the overall viscosity of your crankcase oil to a certain extent. This will cause no harm to your motorcycle. Likewise, adding a 20w50 product to 10w40 will slightly increase the overall viscosity in your crankcase. Again, no harm will occur.

Question 2: Can you explain multi-weight lubricants?

Spectro Oil Answer: A multi-weight oil is an oil formulation that acts as if it has two different viscosities, depending on the temperature. At the lower test temperature (40C), it flows as the first number would indicate, and at the higher test temperature (100C), it flows as the second number would indicate. This multi-weight nature is made possible by the addition of long-chain polymers to the oil, which are coiled up when cold, but straighten out when hot, and thus change the flow characteristics of the oil. Thus a 10w40 oil will flow like a 10 weight oil when at 40C (fairly thin), but will not thin out more than a 40 weight oil would when hot (100C).

Question 3: My dealer says I have to use the OEM lubricant in my motorcycle or my warranty is void.

Spectro Oil Answer: This is not true. All you need to do to fulfill your warranty requirements is to use a lubricant that meets or exceeds the OEM specifications. Spectro products meet or exceed all manufacturers performance requirements.
